On 16 December 2015, Mr. Zhang Xiaoqiang, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of CCIEE met with Mr. Francois Desprairies, Senior Vice President of Airbus. Also present at the meeting were Mr. Xu Chaoyou, Director-general of the External Affairs Department of CCIEE and Mr. Chen Wei, Deputy Head of the Industrial Planning Department of CCIEE.

Mr. Francois Desprairies said that China is the largest market for Airbus and it requires a strategic vision for Airbus to seek continuous development in China. Airbus attaches great importance to advice and suggestion from Chinese government and airlines, hoping to get more suggestions for its development to better satisfy and fit in with the demand of Chinese market’s long-term development.

Mr. Zhang Xiaoqiang pointed out that Airbus highly values the Chinese market, and Tianjin has become a successful Sino-Euro cooperation model in technology. China’s 13th Five-year Plan firmly establishes the five visions of innovative, coordinating, green, open and inclusive development. China’s economy has entered into the phase of the new normal, and emerging industries have become the main power of its economic development. The standards set in the agreement reached by the relevant parties at the just-concluded Paris climate change conference require more for efficient, safe, clean and low carbon transportation. At present, China is further improving its modern enterprise system with market as the main body by deepening its state-owned enterprise reform. This requires overall consideration of both medium and long term development goals and will have significant impact on the development of Chinese enterprises including civil aviation. China's market and demand of air transport are developing rapidly, which will create favorable conditions for Airbus. Airbus should seize the opportunity and strengthen its deep-level technical cooperation with China so as to strive for greater win-win result.

The two parties also exchanged minds on aviation market development, regional transportation with Chinese characteristics and aircraft design, etc
