CCIEE and Shandong Provincial People’s Government Signs Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for Jinan International Center for Medical Sciences

Invited by the People’s Government of Shandong Province, Zhang Xiaoqiang, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of CCIEE, Chen Wei, Director of the Institute of Innovation and Development Research, and others went to Jinan attending the signing ceremony of the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for Jinan International Center for Medical Sciences on the morning of 24 January 2017. Xia Geng, Vice Governor of Shandong Provincial People’s Government, Chen Xiangzhi, Deputy Director-General of the Finance Department of Shandong Province, Chou Bingyu, Deputy Director of the Health and Family Planning Commission of Shandong Province, Wang Zhonglin, Mayor of Jinan, Zhang Haibo, Vice Mayor of Jinan and other officials were present at the signing ceremony.

The Vice Governor Xia Geng expressed that as a major economic province in China’s eastern coastal region, Shangdong province has experienced rapid development in medical and health industry. Last April, the government of Shandong province determined to establish the international center for medical sciences in Jinan. CCIEE has unique strategic insight and expertise in medical and health industry and thus, CCIEE and the government of Shandong province will be able to make Jinan International Center for Medical Sciences a high-end, professional and international medical center through joint effort. They will adhere to the principal of high standard and internationalization, conduct comprehensive consultation and top-level design to make the center an outstanding place for medical treatment, R&D, and education in China.

CCIEE Executive Vice Chairman Zhang Xiaoqiang noted that the central government has attached more importance to the healthcare industry and is pushing on the supply-side structure reform, all these factors imply great opportunities for establishing the international medical center and providing differential healthcare services. Healthcare industry has its own law of development and therefore, the Jinan International Center for Medical Sciences should strive for a new breakthrough in the system and operational model.

As a national high-end think tank, CCIEE has its unique advantage in industrial planning. For example, CCIEE participated in the planning and construction of Hainan Boao Healthy City, Beidaihe Healthcare Zone and has made significant achievement. In the next stage, CCIEE will provide Jinan International Center for Medical Sciences with consulting services such as planning and construction, strategic research, industrial and master planning.

At the end, on behalf of the People’s Government of Shandong Province, the Vice Governor Xia Geng, and CCIEE Executive Vice Chairman signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for Jinan International Center for Medical Sciences.
