CCIEE Holds 12th “Monthly Economic Talk”

On June 23rd, 2010, CCIEE held its 12th “Monthly Economic Talk” in Beijing, under the theme of “Will European Sovereign Debt Crisis Lead to a Double-dip for Global Economy?” Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman of CCIEE, chaired the talk.

        

Based on the theme of the talk, several guest speakers delivered speeches regarding the European sovereign debt crisis and its impact, including Jia Kang, Director of Research Institute for Fiscal Finance, Ministry of Finance; Jiang Shixue, Deputy Director and Researcher of the Institute of European Studies, CASS; He Dexu, Deputy Director of the Institute of Quantitative & Technical Economies, CASS; Zhang Yongjun, researcher of CCIEE. Sooner after the speeches, Gu Yuanyang, former President of the Institute of World Economics and Politics and also member of the academic committee, CASS; Liu Yuanchun, Vice Dean of the School of Economics, and Director of the Department of International Studies at Renmin University; Zhang Yuncheng, Deputy Director of the Center for Globalization Studies, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations commented on the speeches.

The theme of the 12th “Monthly Economic Talk” focused on hot world economic issues. Based on the analysis of the characteristics and current situation of the European sovereign debt crisis, the guest speakers gave forward-looking analysis of the debt crisis and its impact on China’s economy. The analysis not only looked at the prospect of the global economic environment, but also the real needs of transitional investment and trade. Therefore, it has important instructive effect on the operation of the economy. Staff and scholars from various industries such as cross-border investment, finance and international trade. Research institutions, universities, media and members of CCIEE attended the talk. At the end of the talk, journalists interviewed some experts regarding issues of their concern.
