CCIEE Secretary General Meets with the Advisor of Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee

On the morning of July 9, 2010, Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, met with Nina Massis, advisor of Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee. Also at the meeting were Xu Chaoyou, Deputy Director General of the Department of External Affairs and Dr. Niu Tiehang of Department of Information at CCIEE.

        

Mr. Wei extended his warm welcome to Ms. Massis and introduced the main functions and research work of CCIEE and its past events such as the Global Think Tank Summit and International Cooperative Conference on Green Economy and Climate Change.

Ms. Massis said Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee has gathered an excellent team of experts in the field of international monetary finance and global economic issues since its inception in 1994. As the chair of G20 summit in 2011, France will spare no efforts to promote financial regulatory reform. French President Nicolas Sarkozy believes that the key of G20 summit in 2011 is to improve international financial regulatory system to ensure world financial security, as the recovery in financial sector is the core element of world economic recovery. Ms. Massis hopes that China will play an important role in the G20 summit.

Mr. Wei said that the reform and adjustment of the current international financial order and regulatory system is a common issue facing the international community and thus, all states should take responsibility in this regard. Both CCIEE and Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee should make the most of their roles as NGOs in this aspect.
