CCIEE Holds 13th “Monthly Economic Talk”

On the morning of July 20, 2010, CCIEE held its 13th “Monthly Economic Talk” in Beijing, under the theme of “First half Economic Analysis and Prospect”. Mr. Wang Chunzheng, Executive Vice Chairman of CCIEE, chaired the talk.

Mr. Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman of CCIEE, Mr. Li Deshui, Vice Chairman of CCIEE Academic Committee and former Director of National Bureau of Statistics, Mr. Zhang Yongjun and Mr. Wang Jun, Researchers of CCIEE, delivered speeches respectively. They gave an in-depth analysis on issues such as transformation of development mode, stable and healthy development of the real estate market, “multiple” economic dilemmas in macroeconomy, and some current hot macroeconomic issues in world economy. The following three forward-looking and practical views have been given based on the above analysis:

Firstly, China’s economy in the future will see high growth, low inflation and more achievement. The macro control policy for the second half must follow the direction which has been set at the beginning of this year. Secondly, the principle of “everyone should enjoy his right to housing” should be set as primary target for resolving problems in the real estate market. The real estate market should not be investment-oriented, and the “State Notification on Preventing Excessive House Price Hike in Some Cities” should be firmly implemented. Last but not least, in response to the contradiction in economic operation and the changes in international economic situation, we can implement some accurate and partial adjustment in macroeconomic policy to promote transformation of economic development mode.              

After the speeches, news agencies interviewed the speakers about the current hot issues. Also at the meeting were staff from the information and research departments of CCIEE, attendees from member companies of CCIEE, enterprises and research institutions.
