5th Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation Forum Kicks Off in Nanning

On August 12 -13th, 2010, the 5th Pan-Beibu Gulf (PBG) Economic Cooperation Forum was held in Naninng, capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, under the theme of “The Establishment of ACFTA (ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement) & PBG Economic Cooperation”. This forum was hosted by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. As a support unit, CCIEE undertook the “Pan-Beibu Gulf & Fortune 500 Dialogue: International Investment & Industrial Development in PBG Economic Cooperation” event held on the afternoon of August 12th. More than 400 guests attended the forum, including governmental officials from China and abroad, representatives of international organizations, executives of multinational companies as well as scholars. The topics for discussion at the forum included: “The establishment of ACFTA & the Nanning-Singapore Economic Corridor”, “Pan-Beibu Gulf & Fortune 500 Dialogue: International Investment & Industrial Development in PBG Economic Cooperation”, “International Investment and Cooperation in Shipping, Ports and Logistics in the PGB Region”.

Mr. Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman of CCIEE, delivered a keynote speech entitled “China’s Transformation of Development Mode Brings Opportunity to PBG Economic Cooperation”, and Mr. Wei Jianguo, chaired the forum of “Pan-Beibu Gulf & Fortune 500 Dialogue”.

CCIEE organized the “Pan-Beibu Gulf & Fortune 500 Dialogue” event and invited government officials, executives of Fortune 500, scholars and experts attending the forum.
