CCIEE Successfully Hosted Parallel Sub-Forum of the Ninth World Forum on China Studies

From 18 to 19 October 2021, the Ninth World Forum on China Studies, which was themed with “The Communist Party of China, China and the World”, was successfully held in Shanghai. China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE) hosted the parallel sub-forum with the theme of “China’s 14th Five-Year Plan and the Global Economic Recovery”. The sub-forum consisted of two parts for Asian and Western time zones respectively and was held through both online and offline approach. Bi Jingquan, Executive Vice Chairman of CCIEE and Vice Chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, and Zhang Xiaoqiang, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of CCIEE, made the opening remarks at the two parts respectively.




 

The sub-forum invited more than 30 domestic and foreign guest speakers from 14 countries and regions, international organizations, foreign embassies in China, think tanks and chambers of commerce, including the U.S., France, Belgium, Russia, Australia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, India and Pakistan. The sub-forum won a great success as guest speaker launched in-depth discussions on challenges and countermeasures for Asian economic recovery in the post-pandemic era, China’s economic development during its 14th Five-Year Plan period and the process of Asian economic integration, the prospect, challenges and countermeasures of the world economic recovery in post-pandemic era and interactive development between Chinese and the global economy in the future.

 

As a high-level, all-round and open academic forum, the World Forum on China Studies is co-sponsored by the Information Office of the State Council and Shanghai Municipal Government with the aim of providing platform for research and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign academic communities, presenting latest progress and trend of Chinese studies, encouraging academic innovation, promoting common development of different schools, enhancing mutual understanding of China and the world, and developing academic community of Chinese studies with international influence.
