CCIEE Delegation Attends Inaugural Meeting of Chongqing Foreign Trade Group

On September 3, 2009, a CCIEE delegation attended the inaugural meeting of Chongqing Foreign Trade Group Co., Ltd. The Secretary of CCP Chongqing Municipal Committee Bo Xilai, Mayor Wang Hongju, Executive Deputy Mayor Huang Qifan and other municipal government officials met with the CCIEE delegation.
Headed by CCIEE Secretary General Wei Jianguo and Deputy Secretary General Zhang Xiaochong, the CCIEE delegation consists of 20-plus members from large State-owned, private, foreign-funded enterprises, as well as research institutions. Wei congratulated Chongqing Foreign Trade Group on its inauguration. He said that this is a major step in implementing the central government's strategic policy of accelerating development in the western region, and hoped CCIEE could establish long-term strategic cooperation with Chongqing municipal government and local enterprises. At the meeting, Deputy Secretary General Zhang Xiaochong, on behalf of CCIEE, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Chongqing State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and Chongqing Foreign Trade Group.
During the visit, the CCIEE delegation also discussed cooperation with the leaders of Chongqing municipal government and local businesses. Both sides agreed to have further discussion of investment projects.
