Wei Jianguo Attends Symposium on China's Green Economy and International Cooperation

  On September 13, 2009, CCIEE Secretary General Wei Jianguo met with Tubiana Laurence, director of the French Institute for Sustainable Development and International Studies. They exchanged views on climate change, low-carbon economy, the global financial crisis, reform of the international financial system and other international issues.
  On September 14, Wei addressed the Symposium on China's Green Economy and International Cooperation. He elaborated on China's position regarding climate change, clean energy, energy conservation and emission reduction, and reiterated China's commitment to tackling these issues. He called upon global think tanks to strengthen cooperation in order to facilitate inter-governmental agreements.
  More than 20 experts from the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University and CCIEE attended the Symposium. They held extensive and in-depth discussion on a wide range of issues, such as China's progress in energy-saving and emission reduction, the prospects and challenges of China's transition to low-carbon economy, and China's cooperation with Europe.
