  • Time:2009-10-30
On October 30, 2009, Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, attended the 2nd Forum on Future Development of China, which was held in Guangzhou and organized by Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation. The theme of the forum is "Beyond the Financial Tsunami-The Impact of the Global Financial Crisis on China's Economy."
In his speech, Wei pointed out that the underlying causes of the current financial crisis are inappropriate macroeconomic policies and flawed financial regulatory systems in the United States and other major developed countries, resulting in growing gap between fictitious economy and real economy. The rapid spread of the financial crisis across the world reflects the deficiencies of the financial system. He noted that we have to learn our lessons from the financial crisis, strike a proper balance between fictitious economy and real economy, formulate a sound financial regulatory system that prudentially supervises financial institutions, and actively participate in reforming the international financial system.
