CCIEE Holds 5th "Monthly Economic Talk"

On November 12, 2009, CCIEE held the 5th "Monthly Economic Talk" at the China Millennium Park. The theme of this month's talk is "China's Economy in 2009 and Macroeconomic Policies for 2010." Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman and Director of CCIEE Academic Committee, chaired the event.
Yao Jingyuan, chief economist and spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics of China, made a speech entitled "Trends of China's Macro-economy." Fan Jianping, chief economist and director of the Forecasting Department of the State Information Center, delivered a speech on "China's Economic Trends and Macroeconomic Policies in 2009 and 2010." Wei Jianing, Vice-Director of the Macroeconomic Studies Department of the Development Research Center of the State Council, gave a speech entitled "The Prospects of China's Economy and Macroeconomic Policies."
Despite the heavy snow that caused traffic havoc, more than 110 people from various research institutions, universities, SOEs, and the media managed to attend the event. Fan Jiangping and Wei Jianing answered questions from the audience during the lively Q & A session.
