Wei Jianguo Meets with Director of Austria's International Research Center

On November 22, 2009, Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, met with Ms. Frances Markhof, director of the International Research Center of Austria.
Markhof briefed Wei on the research strength of the International Research Center of Austria and its cooperation with the Stevenson Center of the United States. The main purpose of her visit, she said, is to explore the possibility of establishing a partnership among the three organizations. She also expressed her views on the monetary system of East Asia and regional trade liberalization.
While agreeing with Markof's suggestions about the monetary system of East Asia and regional trade liberalization, Wei nonetheless cautioned against hasty policy measures. Wei also suggested that the two sides sign a cooperation agreement in order to foster information sharing and personnel exchange via periodic projects.
