Zeng Peiyang Meets With Zhejiang CPC Sectrary and Governor

On March 12, 2010, Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of CCIEE, met with Zhao Hongzhu, Secretary of Zhejiang CPC Provincial Committee, and Lv Zushan, Governor of Zhejiang province. Mr. Zeng offered several suggestions regarding strengthening cooperation between CCIEE and Zhejiang provincial government. Zeng suggested that research projects be closely integrated with the “12th Five-Year Plan,” and that local conditions in Zhejinag be taken into account in research on accelerating economic restructuring, speeding up urbanization, resolving issues concerning migrant worker, and developing modern agriculture, services industry, and ocean industry. The leaders of Zhejiang province briefed Zeng on their experience of success in the past 30 years. They also introduced a series of ongoing reforms that are being carried out, including reform of private economy in Wenzhou and Taizhou, reform of comprehensive support system in Hangzhou, reform of rural and urban development in Jiaxing, comprehensive reform of international trade in Yiwu, as well as issues arising from economic and social transformation in Zhejiang.

Zheng Xinli, Permanet Vice Chairman of CCIEE, Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, Chenmin, Executive Deputy Governor of Zhejiang province, Zhang Hongming, Secretary General of Zhejiang provincial government, Zhang Mengjing, Director of Zhejiang provincial government’s Advisory Committee, also attended the meeting. The two sides exchanged views regarding developing strategic cooperation, strengthening information sharing, and establishing an interactive cooperation mechanism.

On behalf of both parties, Wei Jianguo and Chen Min’er signed the minutes of the meeting. Also at the signing ceremony were Zeng Peiyan, Lv Zushan and other leaders.
