Head of Economic Research Department Xu Hongcai Meets with EBRD Managing Director Thomas Maier

On 9 September 2015, Head of CCIEE Economic Research Department Xu Hongcai met with Managing Director Thomas Maier and Managing Director Riccardo Puliti of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The purpose of their visit was to share with CCIEE EBRD’s experience in PPP project financing management. Based on some typical cases of PPP project financing undertaken by EBRD in Europe, they analyzed the PPP financing structure, operation mechanism, investment returns and risk management, and reiterated their wish to conduct financial cooperation with China. Opinions were exchanged over, among others, the development of the “Belt and Road” initiative, RMB internalization and China-EU economic and financial cooperation. Also present at the meeting were Deputy Head Chen Wei and Urbanization Division Chief Ma Qingbin of the Industrial Planning Department, and Deputy Chief Sun Kui of the Division of Think Tanks’ Cooperation and Research of the External Affairs Department of CCIEE.
