Deputy Chief Economist Zhang Yongjun Meets with Counselor Jensen from Danish Embassy in Beijing

On 2 February 2016, Deputy Chief Economist Zhang Yongjun met with Mr. Jensen, Energy and Environment Counselor from the Danish embassy in Beijing and exchanged views on how Danish enterprises could develop their business on the mainland of China and in Taiwan under the new situation across the Taiwan Strait.

Mr. Zhang Yongjun briefed on the economic situation before and after the election in Taiwan, and suggested that Danish enterprises should continue to do business and strengthen cooperation with their counterparts on the mainland and in Taiwan. He also gave advices on how to expand Danish technology of offshore wind power on the mainland and in Taiwan. He indicated that the model of three-party cooperation among Danish enterprises, SOEs on the mainland and companies in Taiwan could be used to reduce the risks. The experience and technology of successful pilot schemes in Taiwan could be expanded on the mainland.

Both sides also discussed such issues as the electricity capacity in Northern Europe, environmental protection technologies for wind power and the exchange rates for European currencies, etc..
