The President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China Visits CCIEE

On August 6, 2010, Mr. Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE met with Mr. Christian Murck, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham-China). Also at the meeting were Ms. Wang Yongqian, Government Affairs Coordinator of the AmCham-China, Mr. Zhang Xiaochong, Deputy Secretary General of CCIEE and Mr. Niu Tiehang of the Department of Information at CCIEE.

Mr. Wei introduced the background of CCIEE, its daily activities and this year’s major work plan.

Mr. Murck spoke highly of the works CCIEE has done since its establishment and gave an introduction of AmCham-China’s main responsibilities and its current focus. AmChamb-China mainly provides services to American companies in China, however, it has also started to pay attention to Chinese companies’ investment in the U.S., such as Anshan Iron & Steel Group’s recent investment in the U.S.

Mr. Wei praised AmCham-China for its contribution to the China-U.S trade, especially its help to Chinese companies’ investment in the U.S. Besides, he said that there is huge potential in cooperation between the two organizations.
