CCIEE Permanent Vice Chairman Meets with the Delegation of Japan-Asia Exchange Association

On October 13th, 2010, Mr. Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman of CCIEE, met with the delegation of Japan-Asia Exchange Association led by Mr. Shoyama Etsuhiko, Deputy Chairman of the association. This year is the association’s 31st anniversary. Also at the meeting were Mr. Masumoto Teruaki, deputy leader of the delegation and Executive Advisor of the Tokyo Electric Power Company, Mr. Saito Tsuneo, Executive Advisor of the Tohoku Electric Power CO., INC., Mr. Kitamura Hiroaki, President of the Japan-Asia Exchange Association, Mr. Chen Yongjie, Deputy General Secretary of CCIEE and Mr. Han Yihu, Deputy Director General of the Consulting Department.

          

Mr. Etsuhiko Shoyama introduced the Japan-Asia Exchange Association. Delegates expressed their views on China’s energy issues, measures to address climate changes and Japan’s energy industry.   

Mr. Zheng Xinli introduced CCIEE and the overall trend of China’s energy need. He pointed out that China’s demand for energy and electricity will continue to rise in the next 20 years, thus, energy conservation and emission reduction will be an important task for China in the long term. He also said that China and Japan have achieved great success in energy cooperation and hoped the two countries can strengthen R & D in the fields of nuclear power, solar power, biomass energy and wind energy.

The two sides conducted deep exchange of views and discussion regarding the development of nuclear power, energy efficiency, emission reduction and other issues. They agreed to enhance communication and exchanges to promote mutual cooperation.
