Zheng Xinli Meets With Vietnamese Ambassador

On November 6th, 2010, Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman of CCIEE, met with H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in China. Also at the meeting were Wang Xianlei, Deputy Director General of the Research Department, and other Staff of CCIEE.

Zheng Xinli extended his warm welcome to H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Tho and pointed out, that only reform and opening-up can better develop socialism and benefit people’s livelihood. Also, he spoke highly of the achievements Vietnam has obtained through implementing its policy of reform and opening-up.

Zheng Xinli introduced the CPC Central Committee’s Proposal for Formulating the 12th Five-Year Program for China’s Economic and Social Development, which was adopted at the Fifth Plenum of the 17th CPC Central Committee. He suggested Vietnam to seize the opportunities arising from the 12th Five-Year Program period, accelerate the development of China-Vietnam economic and trade relations, promote mutual cooperation and benefit all the people in the two nations.

H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van thanked Zheng Xinli for the meeting and his recommendations. He introduced the reform and opening up which is currently taking place in Vietnam. He believed that despite of the great progress which has been achieved in China-Vietnam economic and trade Relations, there is still huge room for potential cooperation.

The two sides also exchanged views on issues as education, technology, economy and trade, and marine development.
