Mr. Zheng Xinli Meets with Prof. Cho of the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies

On the morning of February 25, 2011, Mr. Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman of CCIEE, met with Prof. Cho Dong-Sung, honorary Chairman of the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies, Korea. Also at the meeting was Mr. Wang Jun, head of the macroeconomy division of the research department.   

Mr. Zheng extended his warm welcome to Prof. Cho and his colleagues. He introduced China’s economic development, the strategic plan of the transformation of China’s economic development mode, CCIEE and its research works. Also, he had an in-depth discussion with Prof. Cho on issues like industrial policy making, national competitiveness, cooperation among Asian nations and between CCIEE and the Institute for industrial Policy Studies.

Prof. Cho introduced the major international practices of industrial policies and Korea’s experiences in industrial development, and gave specific suggestions on the development of China’s strategic and emerging industries. He said that China’s experiences in economic development are more important than the material assistance to the developing countries. CCIEE has an important role to play in the aspect of promoting China’s experiences in economic development to the world.

Both sides agreed to keep close contact and conduct academic exchanges and cooperation.
