Wen Jiabao Meets with US Delegates of the First US-China CEO and Senior Officials’ Dialogue

On March 17th 2011, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, met with the US delegates attending the First US-China CEO and Senior Officials’ Dialogue at the Ziguang Pavilion of Zhongnanhai. Mr. Wen exchanged views with them and answered questions.

Premier Wen said that the world economy is recovering slowly but still facing some uncertainties. Therefore, we need to be confident and manage the direction of the macroeconomic policies, strengthen cooperation among different nations and actively promote economic recovery. Major economies should prevent the negative impact of the world economy while resolving the prominent problems in their economic development.

The premier pointed out that the international financial crisis did not change the complementarity in the Sino-US economic relations. China’s implementation of policies to boost domestic consumption and encourage technological innovation also provides American companies with more business opportunities. He stressed that China will adhere to the open strategies which are mutually beneficial and will produce win-win outcome, improve foreign economic laws and regulations continuously, strengthen communication and coordination with the US to resolve disputes properly and address challenges together. With a constructive attitude, China and the US should discuss and come up with effective ways of conducting large scale cooperation in finance, economy and trade, in order to bring new impetus to the strong, sustainable and balanced economic development in China, US and the world.
