Chen Yongjie Meets with Martin Lees

On the morning of June 28th, 2011, Chen Yongjie, Deputy Secretary General of CCIEE met with Martin Lees, former Secretary General of the Rome Club. Also at the meeting were Mr. Douglas Lees, consultant of the Mandarin Strategy Management Consulting Ltd, Mr. Zhang Yongjun, Deputy Director-General of the Research Department, Mr. Xu Hongcai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information, and Mr. Zeng Shaojun, researcher of CCIEE.

Martin Lees briefed on the recent research areas of the Rome Club. He pointed out that the current researches on economy, resources, environment and climate are rather biased and one-sided, and they should be conducted in a comprehensive and systematic way.

Mr. Chen introduced the research findings of CCIEE and the just-concluded 2nd Global Think Tank Summit. He agreed with Mr. Martin’s opinions, and pointed out that CCIEE also attaches great importance to the studies of resources, environment and development.

Both sides agreed to keep close contact and explore possible academic exchanges and cooperation.
