CIGI Executive Director Thomas Bernes Visits CCIEE

On June 27, 2011, Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, met with Thomas Bernes, Executive Director of the Center for International Governance Innovation (CIGC). Also at the meeting were Xu Chaoyou, Deputy Director-General of the Department of External Affairs, Zhang Yongjun, Deputy Director of the Research Department of CCIEE, Paul Jenkins, distinguished fellow, and Chen Zongyi, head of China Project of the CIGI.  

Mr. Wei extended his welcome to Mr. Bernes and his colleagues. He hoped CCIEE and CIGI can undertake cooperation in four areas such as information sharing, research project, personnel exchange and joint organization of conferences.

Mr. Bernes congratulated CCIEE on its Second Global Think Tank Summit and agreed with the cooperation proposed by Mr. Wei. He said that the two organizations can conduct researches of common interest.

The two sides agreed to keep close contact and discuss cooperation in the future.
