Wei Jianguo Meets with the Premier of Victoria

On the afternoon of 27th September, 2011, Mr. Wei Jianguo, Secretary-General of CCIEE, met with The Hon. Ted Baillieu, Premier of Victoria.
Also at the meeting were Mr. Patrick Stringer, Commissioner for State Government of Victoria in China, Ms. Helen Silver, Secretary of Department of Premier and Cabinet, Mr. Nigel Henham, Senior Adviser of Office of the Premier of Victoria, Ms. Josephine Cafagna, Director of Strategic Communications of Office of the Premier of Victoria, Jonathan Faulkner, Senior Protocol Officer, Mr. James Xu, Investment Manager of the State Government of Victoria Shanghai Office, Mr. Xu Chaoyou, Deputy Director-General of the Department of External Affairs at CCIEE, and Mr. Niu Tiehang, Editor –in-Chief of Globalization Magazine.
Mr. Ballieu appreciated Mr. Wei for the meeting and expressed his willingness to maintain and strengthen Victoria’s thought leadership role in Australia’s future relations with China, and wished to develop cooperation and communication with CCIEE, as Victoria enjoys arguably the oldest, broadest and most diversified relationships with China of any Australian State.
Mr. Wei welcomed Mr. Baillieu’s visit to CCIEE, and agreed that both sides could cooperate on many fields. He also put forward some specific suggestions for cooperation.
