Mr. Zheng Xinli Meets with the Hon Martin Ferguson MP

On September 24, 2011, Mr. Zheng Xinli, CCIEE Permanent Vice Chairman, met with the Hon Martin Ferguson MP, the Australian Minister for Resources, Energy and Tourism, in Beijing.

Also at the meeting were H. E. Ms Frances Adamson, Ambassador of Australian Embassy in China, Michael Jeffery, Chairman of the Board of The Global Foundation，and Mr. Zhai Qi, Deputy Secretary General of China Business Council for Sustainable Development (CBCSD).  Chairman Zheng indicated the idea that, the Chinese SMEs should be encouraged to “go global” to cooperate directly with Australian enterprises so as to enhance the capital utilization rate, reduce their cost of import. Minister Ferguson briefed on the new favorite policy of FDI, welcoming Chinese enterprises to invest in Australia. Both sides discussed the status of energy and resources policy in Australia and opportunities for further cooperation between China and Australia.
