Chen Wenling Meets with Dr. Osama Tanaka

On December 8, 2012, Ms. Chen Wenling, Chief Economist of CCIEE, met with Dr. Osama Tanaka, Executive Vice President of the Policy Research Institute under the Ministry of Finance, Japanese Government. They exchanged views on such issues as China’s and Japan’s economies and world economic trend. Also at the meeting was Dr. Zhang Yongjun, Deputy Director-General of the Research Department of CCIEE.

Ms. Chen said that China is the biggest market and largest trading partner for Japan. The two countries are enjoying very close economic and trade relations which require joint efforts and cooperation from both sides. She also analyzed the internal and external reasons behind China’s economic slowdown and its inflation trend.

Dr. Tanaka appreciated Ms. Chen’s analysis and briefed on Japanese economic recovery situation and the measures by the Japanese government to solve the problem of an aging society.

Both sides agreed to conduct some practical research cooperation, serving both governments with reference in their decision-making, and making contributions to both economic societies.
