Wei Jianguo Meets with Arthur Brooks

On February 2nd, 2012, Mr. Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE met with Mr. Arthur Brooks, President of American Enterprise Institute(AEI). Mr. Tully Friedman, CEO and Chairman of Friedman Fleischer &Lowe, LLC and Vice Chairman of AEI Board of Trustees, Mr. Harlan Crow, Chairman and CEO of Crow Holdings and Member of AEI Board of Trustees, Mr. Daniel Blumenthal, Director of AEI Asian Studies, Mr. Lara Crouch, Research Assistant to the Asian Studies Program, Mr. Kamal Latham, President & General Manager for China Business Development of Diplomatic Treatment Corporate Consulting Company, Dr. Cao Wenlian, Deputy Secretary-General of CCIEE, Mr. Xu Chaoyou, Deputy Director-General of CCIEE Department of External Affairs were also at the meeting.

Mr. Wei Jianguo gave a brief introduction of CCIEE and expressed his opinion about China, U.S. and global economies. According to Mr.Wei, the biggest challenges faced by China economic development are restructuring and economic development mode transforming. China’s development aims at peaceful development, mutual benefit and win-win results, it can’t do without the international cooperation. He hopes that both organizations could strengthen communications and cooperation.

Mr. Arthur Brooks expressed his appreciation and agreed that two sides could conduct joint research on issues of mutual interest.
