Zheng Xinli Meets with IBM CEO
On February 22, 2012, Mr. Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman of China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), Mr. Wang Yong, President of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), met with Ms. Virginia Rometty, the newly appointed and first-ever female CEO of IBM. Also at the meeting were Mr. Jiang Weiliang, Deputy Director General of the division of foreign affairs at the SASAC, and Mr. D.C. Chien, General Manager of IBM Greater China.
Mr. Zheng extended his warm welcome to Ms. Rometty and introduced the research works CCIEE has accomplished since its establishment. He suggested CCIEE and IBM to cooperate in the aspects of improving Chinese enterprises’ ability in information processing, the ability of senior managers of the central enterprises in global operation, information acquisition, processing and utilization.
Mr. Wang Yong introduced the status quo and existing problems in reforming Chinese central enterprises over the past years. He recommended that IBM and Chinese enterprises can conduct cooperation in many fields, such as leaders’ training.
Ms. Rometty expressed that IBM keeps a close relationship with China and the two sides have great prospect in improving Chinese SOEs (State-owned Enterprises) leaders’ ability in information processing.
