CCIEE Held its First Economic Discussion with Diplomats
On March 7, 2012, China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE) held its first economic discussion with Ms. Tatiana Rosito, Economic Minister Counselor of Brazilian Embassy in China and Mr. Thembinkosi Gcoyi, Economic Counselor of South African Embassy in China on the economic situation of their both countries. Ms. Chen Wenling, Chief Economist of CCIEE, Mr. Zhang Yongjun, Deputy Director General of Research Department of CCIEE and other research fellows were present. Mr. Xu Chaoyou, Deputy Director General of External Affairs Department chaired the discussion.
Ms. Rosito and Mr. Gcoyi gave a comprehensive speech on recent economic development of Brazil and South Africa respectively, sharing with the participants the essential information of their countries and status quo of each economy, as well as their trade relations with China. They also had an in-depth discussion with the research fellows of CCIEE.
Mr. Xu expressed his deep appreciation to Ms. Rosito and Mr. Gcoyi for all the support and assistance they and their embassies have offered to CCIEE over the past three years since its founding. He also indicated that CCIEE would strengthen its contact and communication with the two embassies to jointly promote bilateral think-tank exchanges and reciprocal economic cooperation. Ms. Rosito and Mr. Gcoyi agreed to continue to work together with CCIEE to that end.
