Wei Jianguo Meets with Steven Rockefeller

On Oct.11th, 2012, Mr. Wei Jianguo, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CCIEE met with Mr. Steven Rockefeller, President of Rose Rock Group. Mr. Xu Silin, Mr. Duqiang, partners of the Rose Rock Group, Mr. Xu Chaoyou, Director-General of CCIEE Department of External Affairs were also at the meeting.

Mr. Wei, on behalf of Mr. Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of CCIEE, extended his warm welcome to Mr. Rockefeller. He added that the Rockefeller family has a long-history in China, and made  remarkable contributions to the Sino-US relationship since 1949 in trade, economy, culture and education. He hopes that the Rockefeller family would continue its work in these fields.

Mr. Rockefeller n gave a brief introduction of the family’s new projects, including the Rose Rock International Finance Center in Tianjin and the Museum of finance. He said that his family attached great importance to the relationship between China and the US and will redouble its efforts to advance it in the future. It has paid great attention to facilitate international dialogues and communications and has led the world in building organizations and platforms, such as state-of-art conference centers to promote research and cooperation among global think tanks and institutions.

Both sides agreed to build a long-term cooperation mechanism and enhance multi-layered, and multi-sectoral research and cooperation.
