Economic Counsellor Sumita Dawra Meets with CCIEE Researchers

On November 1, 2012, China Center for International Economic Exchanges held its third quarterly talk with guest speakers Ms. Sumita Dawra, Economic Counsellor, and Second Secretary Mr. Prasanna Shrivastava from the Embassy of India. Mr. Xu Chaoyou, Director General of CCIEE Department of External Affairs, chaired the meeting. Also present were Dr. Zhang Yongjun, Deputy Director  General of Department of Economic Research, Deputy Director Generals of Department of Information, Dr. Xu Hongcai and Mr. Jiang Chunli, and some CCIEE researchers.

Ms. Dawra and Mr. Shrivastava briefly introduced India’s macroeconomic situation and its trends, economic liberalization and reforms and myriad challenges that Indian economy is faced with. CCIEE researchers had in-depth discussions with two diplomats on a number of issues such as talent training and management policy, and inflation control.

Mr. Xu expressed on behalf of CCIEE his deep appreciation to Mrs. Dawra and Mr. Shrivastava for the discussion and to India Embassy for its great support to the Center over the past three years since CCIEE’s establishment in 2009.
