CCIEE Secretary General Meets with Netherlands Deputy Prime Minister

Mr. Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, met with
Rouvoet, Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands and Minister of Youth and Family.
Rouvoet was keen to know how China has managed to maintain its strong economic growth amidst the current financial crisis, China's stands on regional issues, the measures undertaken by the Chinese government to boost domestic consumption, and China's position on the Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change.
Mr. Wei explained to Mr. Rouvoet the policies adopted by the Chinese government to boost domestic consumption and investment in the face of the global financial crisis. He pointed to the great importance China attaches to political and economic relations with its neighboring countries, elaborated on the specific measures adopted to stimulate consumption, and emphasized that economic restructuring would be the focus of China's economic development. Mr. Wei also said that China will vigorously develop wind energy in the next 5-10 years and that China has a lot to learn from the Netherlands because the latter is in the forefront of tapping wind energy. Regarding the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Mr. Wei suggested that developed countries take the lead in fulfilling their responsibilities and in offering financial aid to help developing countries reduce emission.
