Wei Jianguo Meets With EU Counsellor Mr.Christophe Besse

On February 4 th, 2013, Mr. Wei Jianguo, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CCIEE met with Mr. Christophe Besse, First Counsellor and Acting Head of Trade and Investment Section of Delegation of the European Union.      

Mr. Christophe Besse gave a brief introduction to the economic scenario of Europe in the aftermath of Euro-zone crisis. He said that the Sino-Europe bilateral investment agreement was incubating and negotiations would start very soon.

Mr. Wei explained, upon request, his views on the current Sino-Europe relations, the trade policy orientation after the 18th National Congress of CPC as well as the feasibility of the bilateral FTA between Europe and China.  He added that China’s unique success of development owed a lot to the experience and lessons drawn from various nations and China would continue to improve itself.  

Mr. Christophe Besse expressed his appreciation and indicated that he would bring the real voice of China back to Europe. He also said that he would like to see more cooperation between EU Delegation in China and CCIEE in the future.
