German Economic Delegation Visits CCIEE

On January 16, 2010, a German economic delegation led by R??diger Freiherr von Fritsch, Director of the Department of Economy and Sustainable Development at the German Foreign Ministry, visited CCIEE. Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, extended his warmest welcome to the delegation. Also at the meeting was Zhang Xiaochong, Deputy Secretary General of CCIEE. The two sides discussed exchanges and cooperation in such areas as energy, environment protection and new technologies.

Both sides reviewed Sino-German technological exchanges in 2009 and discussed outlooks for 2010. Wei said that China's economy successfully weathered the 2009 global financial crisis and is now showing signs of gradual recovery, adding that the Chinese government is generally optimistic about economic development in 2010. He also said that China is looking forward to more extensive and advanced bilateral cooperation in environmental technology, clean energy, new technology, food safety and other areas.

Also present at the meetings were officials from the Department of Economy and Sustainable Development of the German Foreign Ministry, the Economic Section of the German Embassy in Beijing, and representative from leading German corporations.
