Wei Jianguo Meets with UN Assistant Secretary General

On April 23, 2015, Wei Jianguo, Vice Chairman of CCIEE, met with Xu Haoliang, UN Assistant Secretary General and his colleagues. Also present were Xu Chao you, Director General of the Department of External Affairs, CCIEE, Alain Noudehou, UN Resident Coordinator & UNDP Resident Representative in China, and Christophe Bahuet, Country Director of UNDP China.

Xu Haoliang mainly introduced the new strategic agreement signed by China’s Ministry of Commerce and UNDP. He said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the United Nations and the UN will hold the Post-2015 Development Summit, in which Chinese leaders will participate. China is fully aware of this historical opportunity and will give financial support to the UN and increase China’s international influence. UNDP Attaches great importance to China’s One Belt & One Road Strategy and hope that this strategy could combine with the development summit.

Mr. Wei elaborated the One Belt & One Road Strategy and expressed that CCIEE is willing to continue its cooperation with UNDP so as to promote the development and progress of mankind.
