CCIEE Organizes an Extended Learning Session of the Chairman Meeting and Invites Wang Weiguang, Director of the 13th National Committee of CPPCC on Nationalities and Religions, to Deliver a Lecture on CPC Party History

On May 25, in order to carry out in-depth learning and education on party history, CCIEE organized the 61st extended learning meeting and invited Wang Weiguang, Director of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference on Nationalities and Religions, to deliver a keynote lecture on party history.

Attending the meeting were Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of CCIEE, Executive Vice Chairmen Bi Jingquan and Zhang Xiaoqiang, Vice Chairmen, as well as members of the Senior Expert Advisory Committee, the Executive Board, the Discipline Inspection Committee and the Party Committee. Bi Jingquan chaired the learning session attended by more than 120 people, including staff of CCIEE and China Economic Consulting Corporation.

Wang Weiguang gave a detailed lecture on the significance and rich connotation of learning party history, and provided constructive opinions on why, how and what to learn. His lecture mainly focused on four aspects, namely “in-depth learning of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speeches on party history to fully understand the significance of learning party history", "reading extensively the fundamental works of party history to get an overview of the glorious history and historic contributions of the Communist Party of China in the past 100 years", "fully understanding the key to carry out party history learning and education" and "the basis of party history learning and education is to learn, understand and practice Xi Jinping thoughts on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era, to bear clearly in mind the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core and keep in alignment with the central authorities, to build greater confidence in the path, theory, system and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and to firmly uphold General Secretary Xi Jinping's core position in both the CPC Central Committee and the Party as a whole, and uphold the CPC Central Committee's authority and its centralized, unified leadership”.

Bi Jingquan pointed out that party history learning and education campaign within the party is a major decision made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core. Wang Weiguang gave a profound and analytical party lesson for the party members and cadres of the Center. All party members and cadres should study hard the content of the lecture, step up efforts on the party history learning and education, and closely integrate the party history learning and education with work, so as to make new contributions in building a new type of think tank with Chinese characteristics, and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party with excellent results.

Following the lecture, members of the chairman meeting held a discussion on party history learning and education campaign, and exchanged opinions. All agreed that in the process of in-depth learning and education of party history, they should really set a good example, take the lead in party history learning, research and publicity. From the Party's glorious historical experience, it is a must to inherit the good traditions of the Party, learn the essence, enlighten future generations, promote development, and do a good job in the development of think tanks.

This meeting is one of the important initiatives of CCIEE to carry out in-depth learning and education on party history and effectively implement requirements for the leadership leading the learning.
