CCIEE attends 2021 Initiators Council Meeting of Belt and Road Studies Network

On 2 December 2021, Belt and Road Studies Network (BRSN) held a meeting of its initiators council. On behalf on China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), Head of Department of International Communications and Cooperation attended the meeting.
The council reviewed the work by itself and other initiator institutes on promoting the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) since the last meeting, discussed work plan for cooperation of next stage, elected new chairperson and some council members, and confirmed changes of initiator institutes. He Ping, the newly elected chairman of the council and president of Xinhua News Agency, as well as representatives from other initiator institutes, delivered speeches at the meeting.
CCIEE delegate briefed on a series of its high-quality research projects and international think tank exchanges for promoting BRI. CCIEE will continue to prioritize BRI as a key topic, roll out in-depth studies by research projects and activities of various forms, and enhance cooperation and exchanges and accumulate experience with international think tanks and institutes through bilateral and multilateral communication mechanisms. CCIEE stands ready to work with other initiator institutes to make its own contributions to the development of the path that is full of opportunities and leads to common wealth.
Representatives from both domestic and foreign think tanks expressed the will to deepen exchanges and cooperation, and generate more high-quality and feasible research outcomes hand by hand under the framework of the new initiators council, providing intellectual support for jointly developing high-quality Belt and Road.
Established in April 2019, BRSN is an open, non-profit and international mechanism for think tank exchanges and cooperation based on the principles of consultation, contribution and sharing. With its secretariat located at Xinhua News Agency, BRSN was jointly initiated by eight Chinese think tanks and eight foreign think tanks, including Xinhua News Agency, CCIEE, Valdai Discussion Club and the East Asian Institute (EAI) of the National University of Singapore (NUS). Jiang Zengwei, Vice Chairman of CCIEE, serves as a council member representing CCIEE at BRSN.
