CCIEE Holds 38^th Monthly Economic Talk

On August 16^th, 2012, CCIEE held the 38^th Monthly economic talk at Beijing Media Center, under the theme of The Trend of Commodity Price and Its Impact. Mr. Nie Zhenbang, former Director of the State Administration of Grain and member of CPPCC (Chinese People’s Consultative Conference), chaired the talk.

Mr. Nie Zhenbang, former Director of the State Administration of Grain, Mr. Chen Kexin, Chief Analyst of the Productivity Promotion Center of Commercial Circulation and Mr. Zhang Yongjun, Deputy Director-General of the Research Department, CCIEE, delivered speeches in relation to the theme of the talk. They analyzed the impact on global grain prices caused by failed crops harvest due to the drought in the United States, assessed the policies and actions that have been taken by China to maintain the food supply and price stability, and discussed the trend and long-term impact of the commodity price from a macro viewpoint.

At the end of the meeting, the experts answered questions from the audience. Also at the meeting were researchers and representatives from member companies of CCIEE, other research institutions and the media.
