New Zealand-China Partnership Forum was Held in Beijing
On April 12, 2013, the New Zealand-China Partnership Forum, co-hosted by China Center for International Economic Exchanges(CCIEE) and New Zealand –China Council (NZCC), was held in Beijing.

Under the theme of Strong Foundations and New Potential, the forum is intended to gather the strength of high-level officials, business leaders and scholars to promote sustainable development of NZ-China economic and trade relations. Mr. Wang Yang, Vice Premier of the State Council of China and Rt Jon John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand, addressed the opening ceremony.
Also at the forum were Mr. Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of CCIEE, Rt Jon Don McKinnon, Chairman of New Zealand-China Council. Mr. Wang Chunzheng, Executive Vice-Chairman of CCIEE, presided over the opening ceremony. More than 200 guests attended the forum, including officials, business leaders, scholars and experts.
Premier Wang Yang said that both New Zealand and China are important nations in the Asian Pacific region. They have different resource endowments, strong economic complementarity and enormous potential for cooperation. The two countries should make good use of the New Zealand-China Free Trade Agreement, deepen economic and trade cooperation in various fields and bring the comprehensive New Zealand-China relations to a new level.
Rt Jon John Key pointed out that New Zealand attaches great importance to its economic and trade relations with China, and hopes to expand cooperation with China in more fields.
Participants of the forum believed that New Zealand –China relations are in the best period of history and thus, the two nations should further strengthen their friendship and maximize their potential for bilateral cooperation based on reciprocity and mutual benefits.

New Zealand-China Partnership Forum is a further step taken by the NZ government to strengthen bilateral relations with China. This non-governmental platform is aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and deepening cooperation among officials and elites of all circles from the two nations.
