CCIEE Vice-Chairman Nie Zhenbang Attends Beijing National Seed Silicon Valley Seminar
On October 24, 2013, Mr. Nie Zhenbang, Vice-Chairman of CCIEE, on behalf of the National Seed Silicon Valley Development Strategy research group, attended the National Seed Silicon Valley Seminar in Beijing. The National Seed Silicon Valley Development Strategy Research is an important consulting project conducted by CCIEE from 2012 to 2013. Mr. Wei Liqun, Executive Vice-Chairman of CCIEE, and Mr. Nie Zhenbang are directors of the project, Ms. Chen Wenling, CCIEE Chief Economist is the project manager while Ms. Tianqing from the Strategic Research Department, is the deputy project manager. The research finding received written instructions from China’s Vice-Premier Wang Yang and was also praised during his visit to the International Seed Science Park located in Tongzhou district, east of Beijing.
In his address, Mr. Nie Zhenbang pointed out that the establishment of the National Seed Silicon Valley should have national and global vision and must be high-end, highly effective and have wide exposure. Furthermore, the Silicon Valley should take national strategy and development into consideration and ensure national seed safety, food safety and economic safety. Ms. Tianqing made a report on the research finding, introducing the strategic significance, urgency, connotation, goal and strategic positioning of launching the National Seed Silicon Valley.
The spirit of the speech made by Chinese Vice-Premier Wang Yang during his visit to Tongzhou International Seed Science Park was conveyed at the meeting. Besides, the instruction of Beijing’s Mayor Wang Anshun, which is designated to implement the feedback of the Vice-Premier, was also well-communicated during the meeting. In his speech, Vice-Premier Wang Yang praised CCIEE for its research finding of National Seed Silicon Valley Research, and noted that Beijing and Tongzhou district should use this opportunity to launch the National Seed Silicon Valley, with the Seed Industry Park as a platform. Mayor Wang Anshun instructed that relevant departments of Beijing and Tongzhou district must implement the spirit of Vice-Premier Wang Yang’s speech according to their actual situations.
The meeting was co-hosted by Beijing Rural Works Committee and Science and Technology Committee, officials and experts from different universities and companies attended the meeting.
