CCIEE Holds 53rd Monthly Economic Talk

On November 22nd, 2013, CCIEE held the 53rd Monthly Economic Talk, under the theme of The Impact of the Third Plenum of the 18th National People Congress on China’s Future. Mr. Liu Kegu, former Deputy Governor of the National Development Bank and Deputy Director of the CCIEE Academic Committee, chaired the meeting.

       

Mr. Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice-Chairman of CCIEE and member of the Working Group of the Third Plenum of the 18th National People’s Congress, gave an in-depth interpretation on the Decision on Various Important Issues of the Comprehensive Deepening Reform (popularly known as The Decision).

He pointed points out that The Decision is not only the action agenda for further advancing China’s reform and opening-up, but also the guarantee of building a moderately prosperous society by 2020 and the improvement of socialism with Chinese characteristics. The Decision depicted made comprehensive deployment plans deployment for China’s reforms in economic and political systems, cultural and social systems, ecological civilization and CPC (Communist Party of China) systems in the next eight years. The Decision includes 16 sections and 60 items, of which 23 are the most important reforms. Zheng Xinli argued argues that letting the market play a decisive role is not only an important both the highlight, but also  and major a major breakthrough of the economic system reform.

At the end of the talk, Zheng Xinli took questions from the audience and media.

Researchers and representatives from corporate member companies of CCIEE, other research institutions and the media attended the meeting.
