CCIEE Holds 20th Monthly Economic Talk

On February 23^rd 2011, CCIEE held the 20th Monthly Economic Talk at Beijing Media Center, with the theme of the Status Quo and Price Trend of International Commodity Market. Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, chaired the talk.

Fu Chengyu, President of China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Luo Bingsheng, former Permanent Vice Chairman of China Iron and Steel Association, David Hale,Member of the Academic Advisory Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and Competitive Markets Advisory Council of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Wang Jun,Director of the Macroeconomy Department of CCIEE, delivered speeches respectively. From the perspective of the change in global economic development and pattern, they analyzed reasons behind the price increase of certain commodities, such as oil, iron ore. Moreover, they predicted the price trend of those commodities. At the end of the talk, CCIEE released the CCIEE Commodities Pricing Index and its analysis and judgment of commodities' trend in 2011.    

The speakers answered several questions from the audiences after their speeches. More than 100 guests attended the talk, including staff from the research and information departments of CCIEE, member companies, enterprises, research institutions and presses.
