Vice Chairman Wei Jianguo Meets with DELL's Global Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer Thomas W. Sweet

On 21 January 2016, CCIEE Vice Chairman Wei Jianguo met with Thomas W. Sweet, DELL's Global Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. Also at the meeting were Mr. Xu Chaoyou, Director General for CCIEE’s external affairs, and Mr. Huang Chenhong, DELL's Global Vice President & President of Greater China.


Wei Jianguo expressed that DELL, one of the first U.S. companies in the Chinese market, has actively participated in the process of China's economic development. China highly appreciates the contributions made by DELL in technological innovations and promoting regional and global economic development. Dell has set a good example for Chinese enterprises in this regard. Wei Jianguo said that CCIEE and Dell could cooperate in the following three aspects: firstly, conducting joint researches on topics of common interest; secondly, helping strengthen personnel exchanges with the US think tanks; thirdly, co-hosting forums, seminars and activities on issues of China and regions. The two sides could carry out exchanges and cooperation in six major areas of China economy, including the finance, service industry, high-tech innovation, manufacturing industry, climate change and the Belt and Road Initiative.

Mr Sweet responded by saying that Dell has attached great importance to the Chinese market, and would continue to engage in the economic development of China. DELL hopes to strengthen cooperation and interaction with Chinese enterprises and research institutions in technological innovation, job-creating and other aspects, jointly promoting the sustainable development of global and regional economy. DELL is willing to work together with CCIEE and conduct joint researches on issues of common interest.

The two sides also touched upon the potential cooperation between the Chinese and U.S. enterprises in developing the third-party market. Both agreed to establish a contact mechanism to facilitate mutual communication and cooperation.
