President of GIC Special Investments Pte Ltd Visits CCIEE

On July 22, 2010, Mr. Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, met with Mr. Teh Kok Peng, President of GIC Special Investments Pte Ltd, which is one of the three subsidiaries of The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Private Limited (GIC). Also at the meeting were Mr. Liu Dong, Senior Vice President and Mr. Goh Chin Kiong, Vice President of GIC Special Investments Pte Ltd, Mr. Cai Xiaofeng, Deputy Director General of the Consulting Department and Dr. Niu Tiehang of the Information Department at CCIEE.

Mr. Teh Kok Peng said that he has given close attention to CCIEE since its inception. He believes that China’s financial market and bond market have enormous development potential in the next five to ten years, which will give enterprises more access to finance. Moreover, he hopes to strengthen communication with CCIEE by making the most from GIC’s research strength and CCIEE’s extensive network.

Mr. Wei Jianguo introduced CCIEE’s main functions and tasks and spoke highly of Mr. Teh’s recommendations. He suggested that the two sides could cooperate in two areas. The first one is to support the development of small enterprises with market research and various finance channels. The other area is to enhance research of regional economic cooperation.
