Mr. Wei Jianguo Visits China Xinhua News Network Corporation(CNC)

On July 14, 2010, Mr. Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, met with Mr. Wu Jincai, Deputy Chief Editor of Xinhua News Agency and discussed how to establish cooperation between the two organizations. Also at the meeting were Mr. Zhanghao, Managing Director of CNC, Mr. Zhao Peng, Director of the Multimedia Center of Xinhua News agency, Mr. Jiang Chunli, of the Information Department at CCIEE.

Mr. Wu Jincai introduced the previous preparation CNC did and its current operation. Owned by Xinhua News Agency, CNC will broadcast TV programs overseas, it has now three channels: Chinese, English and Finance. In the future, it will add more channels of minority languages, environmental channel, Confucius channel and so forth. With Xinhua News Agency’s broad international coverage, they hope to make CNC an international news network corporation with great influence like CNN and BBC.

Mr. Wei appreciated Xinhua News Agency’s long-term support to CCIEE and expressed that CCIEE and CNC should have deeper cooperation in more areas. CCIEE can release its research findings and provide consulting services through the platform of CNC, cooperating with CNC in the areas of international economic research, exchanges and consulting.

The two sides expressed their willingness to have further cooperation.
