On March 27, 2019, a delegation from China Information Security Research Institute Co., Ltd. (part of the China Electronics Corporation), led by its Vice President Zhao Wei visited CCIEE. The two sides conducted in-depth discussion on such issues as building better think tanks, personnel training, and information security. Guo Li, deputy secretary of the CCIEE Party Committee, deputy director of the CCIEE Executive Board and director of the Human Resources Department, presided over the meeting. Chen Wenling, chief economist of CCIEE, and the heads of other departments were also present at the meeting. In 2017, China Electronics Corporation and CCIEE cooperated on important issues such as cybersecurity, the Belt and Road initiative, and state-owned enterprise reform.
On behalf of CCIEE, Guo Li welcomed the delegation and briefed the delegates on the achievements CCIEE has made in the past years and the services CCIEE has offered to its member units.
Chen Wenling, chief economist of CCIEE introduced what has CCIEE done to make itself a better national high-end think tank. She pointed out that CCIEE focuses on the major strategic deployment of the Party Central Committee. With strategic research, decision-making research and policy research as the main directions, CCIEE will attract high-end talents and strive to cultivate scientific research teams of the highest quality. CCIEE has put forward many important suggestions and some of them have been incorporated into the national decision-making process. Furthermore, she also gave a detailed introduction to major issues such as the building of the belt and Road.
Vice President Zhao Wei said that China Information Security Research Institute Co., Ltd. is an important supporting unit for the network security and informationization business of China electronic corporation. It provides different national departments and other companies of China electronics corporation with services in digital transformation and information security. Hopefully, the visit to CCIEE will help the institute to learn more about building high-end think tanks, better understand the positioning and development of different think tanks, and build a professional management team. Moreover, he hopes that the two organizations can strengthen cooperation in the future.
In the end, Guo Li concluded that the visit is a great experiment to better serve the member units of CCIEE, build a cooperation platform for them and strengthen communication. In the near future, the two sides will continue to carry out exchange activities in different areas such as talent training, research on think tanks, and information security.
