CCIEE Holds 17th Monthly Economic Talk

On December 11th, 2010, CCIEE held its 17th Monthly Economic Talk in Beijing Media Center, under the theme of International Economic Imbalance. Mr. Liu Kegu, member of National Committee of CPPCC, Executive Director of CCIEE and former Deputy Governor of China Development Bank, chaired the talk.

      

Several speakers gave presentations according to the theme of the talk, including Albert Keidel, Professor of Georgetown University and Senior Fellow of the Atlantic Council of the United States, Stefan Collingnon, Professor of economic policy at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Researcher of Center for the Study of Global Governance (London School of Economics and Political Science), Masahiro Kawai, Director of Asian Development Bank Institute, Zheng Xinli, Permanent Vice Chairman of CCIEE and Zhang Yongjun, Researcher of CCIEE. They elaborated the current global economic imbalance, analyzed the causes of the financial crisis and the relationship between US Dollar’ role and US current account deficit. On top of that, they suggested the participating countries of the G20 Summit in Seoul should reach consensus. 

The guest speakers answered questions from the audience after the presentation. Also at the Talk were staff from the Research and Information Departments of CCIEE, member companies of CCIEE and staff from enterprises, research institutions and media.
