Wei Jianguo Visits Xinhua News Agency to Strengthen Mutual Cooperation

On November 29^th, 2010, Wei Jianguo, Secretary General of CCIEE, visited Zhou Shuchun, Vice Director of the Xinhua News Agency. They exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between the two organizations. Also at the meeting were Guan Xinguo, Deputy Director General of the Edit-in-Chief office, Han Song, Deputy Director General of the Home News for Overseas Service Department of the Xinhua News Agency, Jiang Chunli, Deputy Director General of the Information Department of CCIEE. 

Wei Jianguo recommended the two organizations to undertake deeper cooperation on the “2nd Annual Meeting of China’s Economy” which will be held in the forthcoming January. And to interpret properly the guidance of the Fifth Plenum of the 17^th Central Committee of the CPC, the CPC Central Committee’s Proposal for Formulating the 12th Five-Year Program, the CPC Central Committee’s Economic Meeting and other hot economic issues. Wei Jianguo proposed to establish a stable, flexible and lasting cooperative mechanism between the two organizations, and hoped that the Xinhua News Agency could continue to support CCIEE in the future.  

Zhou Shuchun agreed with Wei Jainguo’s proposal and said the Xinhua News Agency will give full support to various activities organized by CCIEE. Besides, he hoped to eatsblish deep and regular cooperation with CCIEE in the collection and analysis of information about think tanks and economies, and give full play to the role of NGOs so as to increase China’s discourse power in the international community.
