On November 5-6, 2022, the sub-forum of the Fifth Hongqiao International Economic Forum on “New Prospects for China and New Opportunities for the World” was held in Beijing in a combination of online and offline. The China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE) held its symposium under the theme of"China's Opening-Up to the Outside World and Global Economic Governance".

Both Chinese and foreign representative present at the meeting fully expressed their views and opinions centered on the two topics of “New deployment and New Opportunities of China's Opening-Up" and "New Challenges and New Paths of Global Economic Governance", and agreed that the global economic recovery is facing significant challenges due to factors such as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Ukraine crisis, and high inflation. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has made new arrangements and put forward new requirements for further expanding China's opening-up, accelerating the construction of a new development pattern, and promoting the reform of global economic governance. All countries should enhance exchanges and mutual learning, enhance mutual trust and deepen cooperation, oppose unilateralism, protectionism and hegemonism, strengthen global macroeconomic coordination, safeguard the security and stability of the world economy and industrial and supply chains, and jointly address the challenge of climate change. We should take the initiative to expand the converging interests of all countries, make global governance more just and equitable, and inject strong impetus into global development, security and stability.
