CCIEE Held 160th Monthly Economic Talk with the Theme of The Industry Leaders Promote the High Quality Development of the Specialized and Sophisticated Enterprises that Produce New and Unique Products

On February 21, 2023, the "The Development of Specialized and Sophisticated Enterprises that Produce New and Unique Products (SSEPNUP) Forum" was held at the China Center for International Economic Exchanges(CCIEE). The conference conducted in-depth discussions on the key roles, existing issues, and relevant recommendations for leading enterprises in promoting the high-quality development of SSEPNUP. Zhang Xiaoqiang, Executive Vice Chairman of CCIEE, Li Zibin, President of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, representatives from industry-leading enterprises such as Lenovo Group and Tencent, as well as executives from SSEPNUP such as State Nuclear Baoti Zirconium Industry Company, Yinhuan Group, and Luxshare Precision attended the forum and participated in the discussions. Li Feng, Head of Institute of Innovation Development Studies of CCIEE, presented the research results of the project.

Zhang Xiaoqiang, Executive Vice Chairman of CCIEE, emphasized the need for more SSEPNUP in building a modern industrial system, strengthening the role of enterprises in technological innovation, and promoting China's modernization. To promote the high-quality development of SSEPNUP, it is necessary to leverage the leading role of industry-leading companies, open up resources, share capabilities, and provide services to SSEPNUP, empowering them with technology, resources, and experience. At the same time, the government should play a positive role in promoting interactive development between industry-leading companies and SSEPNUP.

Li Zibin, President of the Small and Medium Enterprises Association, emphasized the important role that SSEPNUP play in breaking through key core technologies. The development of SSEPNUP is not only necessary but also urgent. In the future, it is necessary for the government, associations, and industry-leading companies to join forces and support the development of SSEPNUP from various aspects such as finance, taxation, social security, and talent.

Wang Zhong, Vice President of Lenovo Group, pointed out that digital and intelligent transformation is a major driving force for future work. As a leading company in the industry, Lenovo Group will continue to focus on the practical issues faced by SSEPNUP  in achieving high-quality development. It will help them enhance their capabilities in information technology, technological innovation, digital management, and international operations. Together, they will improve the market competitiveness of the industry chain, form a cohesive group, and work together to boost the economy.

Liu Feng, Senior Director at Tencent, stated that Tencent is continuously providing comprehensive support for the digital transformation of SSEPNUP. They aim to promote the deep integration of technological innovation and the real economy. By collaborating with tens of thousands of partners, channel partners, and investment enterprises, they are building an industrial ecosystem that facilitates innovation and collaboration among large, medium, and small enterprises. Tencent is willing to work together with the government, industry associations, research institutions, and industry ecosystem partners to address challenges and difficulties, and assist in the high-quality development of SSEPNUP.

Yuan Gaihuan, General Manager of tate Nuclear Baoti Zirconium Industry Company, stated that the government should promote key breakthroughs in critical raw materials by SSEPNUP. Leading enterprises should take the lead in formulating industry plans and strategies, while SSEPNUP should continuously enhance their technological innovation and product quality.

Zhuang Jianxin, Chairman of Yinhuan Group, expressed that empowering SSEPNUP is crucial for their growth. In the future, the government should increase support for independent innovation in these enterprises, prioritize the purchase of domestically developed products, strengthen intellectual property protection, and enhance the innovation drive of SSEPNUP.

Huang Wei, Deputy General Manager of Luxshare Precision, pointed out that collaboration with leading enterprises can lead to significant breakthroughs in the technological system and accelerate the commercialization of technology. It is recommended to comprehensively analyze the technology that poses obstacles throughout the entire industry chain and all scenarios, and improve the precision of policies accordingly.

SSEPNUP are the leaders among small and medium-sized enterprises. They are key nodes in the industrial and supply chains and serve as the driving force for high-quality development. However, most SSEPNUP lack critical elements such as talents, technology, and funding to support their high-quality development. As the leading companies in the industry chain, industry leaders possess advantages in resources, management, technology, and have strong capabilities for integrating the industry chain.
