CCIEE Holds 42nd Monthly Economic Talk

On December 18^th, 2012, CCIEE held the 42nd Monthly Economic Talk at Beijing Media Center Hotel, under the theme of The Prospect and Impact of the US Fiscal Cliff. Mr. Li Deshui, Vice Chairman of the Economic Policy Committee of CPPCC (Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference), presided over the talk.

Mr. Jia Kang, Director of the Institute for Fiscal Science Research, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Li Junsheng, Vice President of the Central University of Finance and Economics, and Mr. Zhang Yongjun, Deputy Director-General of Economic Research Department at CCIEE, gave their presentations respectively.

Jia Kang predicted and analyzed the prospect of the US fiscal cliff, and expressed his views on China’s macro-regulation in the future. Meanwhile, Li Junsheng, elaborated on the political root of the fiscal cliff and the long-term impact it will have on the US economy. Lastly, Zhang Yongjun explained the nature and impact of the fiscal cliff and the lesson it offers to China.

At the end of the meeting, the experts answered questions from the audience. Also at the meeting were researchers and representatives from member companies of CCIEE, other research institutions and the media.
